Defiance Transmission was owned and operated by Ken Shawver since 1978 & in May of 2022, the operation was passed on to highly experienced auto mechanic and transmission specialist, Josh Johnson.
Josh’s right-hand man is Raymond – the R & R technician who has been at the Defiance Transmission for over two decades.

Interesting info on Ken Shawver
Ken had a career in drag racing for over 45 years in NHRA and IHRA Stock and Super Stock. In 2005, he was the number one qualifier at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis in his 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Super Stocker in a field of 186 cars. He has had many wins throughout his racing career, but his most memorable win was in 1988 when he won the NHRA U.S. Nationals in his Olds Cutlass Stocker. Ken had previously been a tech inspector for the IHRA crew and had also been involved in the Racers for Christ organization.
